Over £10,000 raised at the Conwy Coastal Three Peaks Challenge!

Three Peaks, 25km, 8 hours – COMPLETE!

What an incredible day we all had at our first ever Conwy Coastal Three Peaks Challenge! From start to finish there was smiles, laughter, words of  encouragement and of course a few blisters!

The day started in the sunshine in Conwy where teams and individuals gathered ready in anticipation for their challenge!

The first peak for the team to take on was the highest – Conwy Mountain! And the weather soon turned once we were up there with the sea mist coming over and giving us a little shower. I think most of us appreciated it though!

With all of us up and down within 75 minutes it was now time to take the coastal path over to West Shore! Once we got to West Shore we all stopped for our lunch and enjoyed a discounted coffee from Coffi and Vinyl. A much needed caffeine boost!

Now it was time to head up to The Great Orme, although not as high as Conwy Mountain it took a lot longer and with the sun beaming down on us it felt pretty tough at times.

But everyone was up and down by 2:30pm for a discounted ice cream from Parisella’s at Happy Valley! Even the seagulls must have known we needed the energy as none of them swooped us!!

With two down and only one to go, it was a nice flat walk along Llandudno Promenade to get to The Little Orme.

Although we were all very tired by now it felt good to know the end was in sight!

Our wonderful Mountain Leader Tom and some of the super speedy ones made it to the finish for 4:15pm! The finish was held at The Craft Beer Cave where everyone could enjoy a much needed cold drink!

As participants crossed the finish line, the Craft Beer Cave was full of cheers and clapping, all giving each other well deserved praise!

What was wonderful to see throughout the day was the togetherness and friendliness of everyone. Everyone mingled, got talking with people they didn’t know and offered words of encouragement when things got tough! It was an incredible team effort!

Thank you!

We obviously have a lot of people we need to thank for making this day such a success, firstly this event wouldn’t have been able to happen if it wasn’t for our wonderful lead sponsors – North Wales Scaffolding and Curtis Painting Group. Your support means so much to us and enabled us to make this event happen!

Then of course this event wouldn’t have been such a success if it wasn’t for every single person who took part! You all smashed the challenge and made it fun and enjoyable rather than hard work! As well as being an incredible group you all did amazing with your fundraising which is obviously what the event is all about.

All together with ticket sales, sponsorship and fundraising the Conwy Coastal Three Peaks Challenge raised an incredible £10,200!! We are truly blown away by this total and so grateful to everyone who donated as well as those who fundraised. This amount will make a big difference to the work we do to support those with mental health difficulties.

Thank you to Colwyn Corn Supplies  for providing us with our snack sponsorship so we could supply participants with lots of goodies along the route to keep everyone energised.

We’d also like to thank our amazing mountain leader Tom Prytherch for providing a great route, Nation Wide Ambulance service medics for ensuring we were all safe and to all the incredible volunteers that supported people along the route!

All in all we had a fantastic day and hopefully we can now grow this event to become an annual fundraiser for Conwy Mind!
