Who are the Youth Changemakers?
A group of young people (ages 11-17) working together to improve youth mental health support in Conwy and help shape Conwy Mind’s services for young people.
What’s the Aim?
Directly shape Conwy Mind’s support for young people through:
- Advising on youth mental health services.
- Amplifying the voices of young people.
- Helping create workshops, resources, and campaigns.
- Gaining skills in public speaking, teamwork & mental health awareness.
Why Get Involved?

How Will It Work?
- Meetings Every Two Months
- Youth-led discussions & feedback sessions.
- Updates on Conwy Mind’s youth mental health projects.
- Special sessions with guest experts & mental health professionals.

How to Apply
You can apply by submitting either:
- A Written Statement (max 500 words)
- A Short Video (max 2 minutes)

What Should I Include?
In your application, try to answer some of these questions:
- Why do you want to be a Youth Changemaker?
- What interests you about mental health?
- What ideas do you have for improving mental health support for young people?
- What skills do you want to learn or improve?
- What makes you a great fit for this group?
You don’t have to answer them all. Just share what’s important to you.
Writing Tips
- Keep it simple and clear. No need for formal language.
- Be yourself. There are no wrong answers.
- If you’re stuck, start with:
“I want to be a Youth Changemaker because…”
- Use bullet points if full sentences feel tricky.
Video Tips
- Speak as if you’re talking to a friend. No need to be formal.
- You can film yourself or use a voice over with images.
- Keep it short and direct. Two minutes goes quickly.
- If you’re nervous, write down three key points first.

Yes. A teacher, friend, or family member can support you.
What Happens After I Apply?

- If selected, you’ll join a group of young people making a real impact.
