Conwy Mind celebrates £360K National Lottery funding for ‘Changing Minds’ project

Conwy Mind is thrilled to announce we’ve been awarded £360k from The National Lottery Community Fund! Thanks to National Lottery players, we are delighted to announce the launch of our innovative Changing Minds project, a new initiative aimed at providing early intervention and support for mental health.

Changing Minds is designed to address mental health challenges before they escalate, focusing on proactive support for individuals before they feel the need to seek help from their GP. By offering early intervention services, the project aims to reach those who may not yet recognize they are struggling with their mental health and provide them with the tools and support they need to thrive.

“We are incredibly grateful to the players of the National Lottery Community Fund for their support,” said Denise Roberts, CEO at Conwy Mind. “Their funding has been instrumental in allowing us to launch Changing Minds and provide critical early intervention services to our community. This project represents a significant step forward in our mission to promote mental well-being and offer proactive support to those who need it.”

With the support of the National Lottery Community Fund, the Changing Minds project will offer:

  • Wellness Checks: Comprehensive mental health assessments and personalized action plans to support well-being.
  • Community Engagement: Training for Community Mental Health Champions to break down stigma and promote mental health awareness.
  • Holistic Support: A range of services designed to address both emotional and social aspects of mental health.

Changing Minds will serve individuals of all ages, offering tailored support to help them navigate mental health challenges effectively. Through this project, Conwy Mind aims to foster a more resilient and supportive community.

Thank you, National Lottery players, for making this possible! 🙌

The National Lottery Community Fund recently launched its strategy, ‘It starts with community’, which will underpin its efforts to distribute at least £4 billion of National Lottery funding by 2030.

As part of this, the funder has four key missions, which are to support communities to come together, be environmentally sustainable, help children and young people thrive and enable people to live healthier lives.

National Lottery players raise over £30 million a week for good causes across the UK. Thanks to them, last year (2023/24) The National Lottery Community Fund awarded over half a billion pounds (£686.3 million) of life-changing funding to communities across the UK, supporting over 13,700  projects to turn their great ideas into reality.
