Could you be part of Conwy Mind’s ambitious future and help us to support more people with mental health problems?
We are an independent local charity, working across Conwy and North West Wales and affiliated to National Mind. Our vision is of a society where everyone experiencing mental health needs and emotional problems receive both support, respect, and are accepted and included without fear of stigma and discrimination. We have an excellent reputation in our area and deliver varied and impactful services that are truly transformational for those who access them and the wider community, and have a turnover of around £600,000.
We’re looking for trustees to join our board. Trustees set our strategic direction, make sure we’re using our resources effectively and ensure we’re having the greatest possible impact on our community. They are expected to undertake duties in a manner that reflects Conwy Mind’s values and ethos.
We’re looking for dedicated, empathetic and enthusiastic candidates to help make our vision a reality and lead us closer towards our ultimate ambition: a society where everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets both support and respect.
Diversity is critical for a board to be effective, enabling varied discussions and active debate and decision making so that together we can have the greatest impact. We encourage applications from people of all ages and would particularly welcome applications from young people. We also welcome applications from all ethnic, socio-economic, religious and professional and personal backgrounds and from people with lived experience of mental health problems. Whether you’re an experienced trustee or taking your first steps into governance, if you have the commitment, values, and skills, we want to hear from you.
We are currently looking for, but not limited to, Trustees with skills and experience in any of the following areas:
The trustee role is voluntary requiring a commitment of approximately 4-8 hours per month. Four board meetings per year take place -both in person or virtually via video conference. You may be asked to sit on various sub-committees or to attend ad hoc meetings. Expenses are paid.
If you are interested in becoming a trustee, please send an expression of interest (max 500 words) stating why you are interested in the role and what skills and attributes you aim to bring: to Carol Cunningham: Chair of the Board – [email protected]
